Privacy Policy

Who we are

MagZero Technologies (“MagZero,” “we,” “us”) runs this website. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, open an account, ask for a quote, chat with Max, or buy from us — and how we use it. It also explains the choices and rights you have.

What we collect

Information you give us

Your account: your name, email address and password. We store your password only in hashed form, never as plain text. We also send a link to confirm your email address.
Orders: your contact name, email and phone number, plus the ship-to address, site contact, delivery phone, purchase order number, accounts-payable email and requested delivery date. We also keep a record of what you ordered.
Card payments: you enter your card details on Stripe's checkout page, not ours. Stripe tells us whether the payment went through. We never receive or store your full card number.
Trade pricing and credit applications: your legal business name, business type, address, tax ID or EIN, resale certificate details, years in business, trade references and requested credit limit.
Quotes, contact, service and warranty requests: your name, email, phone and company, the equipment details you share (such as model, serial number and install date), and your message.
Chats with Max: what you type, and any nameplate photos you upload so the assistant can read them. We keep the text of the conversation. We record that a photo was sent, but we don't keep the photo.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers log technical details. These include your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use them to run the site securely and to find problems. Our spam check also looks at signals from your browser when you submit a form. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.

How we use it

To run your account, process and ship orders, take payment, and calculate sales tax
To prepare quotes and follow up on quote requests and inquiries
To review trade pricing and credit applications, including by contacting the trade references you give
To send emails about your account, quotes and orders
To answer your questions through Max and our team, and to improve the assistant's answers
To prevent spam, fraud and misuse of the site
To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires, and to meet our other legal obligations

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the business. They may use it only to provide their services to us.

Stripe — processes card payments on its secure checkout page
Zoho — our accounting, customer records and inventory system — orders, invoices, quotes and inquiries
Resend — delivers our emails, such as email verification, quotes and order updates
Cloudflare — checks form submissions for spam and bots (Turnstile)
Anthropic — provides the AI model behind Max, our parts assistant
Vercel and Google Cloud — host this website and the systems behind it
Shipping carriers — get the delivery name, address and phone they need to deliver your order

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to a buyer as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.

Selling and sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads targeted on other websites based on what you do here). We haven't done either in the past 12 months.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only the cookies and browser storage the site needs to work:

Sign-in cookies (mz_at, mz_rt, mz_user) keep you signed in. They expire after at most 30 days, or when you sign out.
Your cart (mz_cart) and the compressor model you're shopping for (mz_unit) are saved in your browser, so they're still there when you come back.
Chat session (mz_chat_session) is a random ID that links your messages to one conversation with Max.

Our spam check is provided by Cloudflare and runs when a form loads. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time. If you do, you'll be signed out and your cart will be emptied.

How long we keep it

Account information: for as long as your account is open, and then as long as needed for the records below
Orders, invoices, tax-exemption certificates and credit records: 7 years, for tax and accounting purposes
Quote requests, inquiries and chats with Max: up to 3 years after our last contact with you

We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are kept in cookies that the page's scripts can't read. Passwords are stored hashed. Card numbers are handled only by Stripe and never touch our systems. Access to customer information is limited to staff who need it for their work. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you these rights — including when you deal with us on behalf of a business:

Know and access: ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we disclose it to, and get a copy.
Delete: ask us to delete your personal information. We may keep what the law requires us to keep, such as tax and accounting records.
Correct: ask us to fix information that's inaccurate.
Opt out of sale or sharing: we don't sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Limit use of sensitive information: we use sensitive information, such as your account password and tax ID, only to provide our services. We don't use it to infer things about you.
No discrimination: we won't treat you differently for using these rights.

To make a request, email contact@magzero.us or call 877.825.1766. We'll confirm your identity, usually by matching the email address on your account, and respond within 45 days. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you. We'll ask the agent for proof that you authorized them.

Children

This site is for businesses and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
